Kerala United, playing their second match in the ongoing I-League 3, held Oranje FC from Maharashtra to a thrilling 2-2 draw after coming from behind twice. Goals from Ramdinmawia and Febin Gibbs helped Kerala United secure the draw.
The match began with Oranje FC taking an early lead in the 4th minute, courtesy of Mohammed Khatid. After the goal, Kerala United fought to get back into the game and eventually equalized in the 16th minute through Ramdinmawia, who struck a long-range effort to level the score. However, in the 34th minute, Oranje FC regained the lead through an own goal. The score remained 2-1 in favour of Oranje FC at halftime.
Kerala United started the second half with determination to equalize. Despite dominating proceedings, the team struggled to find the net until the 85th minute when Febin Gibbs scored a sublime goal from inside the box to make it 2-2.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the dying minutes, but the deadlock couldn’t be broken. With this draw, Kerala United has 4 points from two matches in Group B of the ongoing I-League 3. They will face Sesa Football Academy, Goa, in their third match on 07-Sep-2024.
