Meanwhile, teams in the lower half of the table face an uphill battle to revive their campaigns, while a few have already begun laying the groundwork for the next season.

Here’s a detailed analysis of each team’s performance so far, based on the latest standings, and what they need to focus on as the business end of the league approaches.

1. Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG)

Position: 1st | Points: 26 | Goal Difference (GD): +11

Mohun Bagan has been the most consistent side this season, winning 8 out of their 12 matches. Their defensive solidity, paired with clinical finishing, has made them formidable. Key players like Dimi Petratos and Jamie Maclaren have been pivotal in converting chances and controlling games.

However, complacency could be their only enemy. To sustain their dominance, Mohun Bagan must focus on maintaining their defensive discipline and optimizing player rotation to avoid fatigue in the later stages of the league.

2. Bengaluru FC (BFC)

Position: 2nd | Points: 24 | GD: +8

Bengaluru FC continues to showcase their tactical discipline under Gerard Zaragoza. Their well-organized defense, led by Rahul Bheke, and the clinical form of Sunil Chhetri have been central to their success. The Blues are yet to loose a game this season at their fortress.

To cement their position, Bengaluru FC needs to sharpen their attack against team with compact defences. Creativity in the middle, quick counters and efficient utilization of set pieces could prove decisive in their remaining matches in continuing their domiant form.

3. FC Goa (FCG)

Position: 3rd | Points: 22 | GD: +7

FC Goa has thrived on their attacking philosophy, securing 6 wins from 12 games. Players like Borja and Sadiku have been crucial in maintaining their offensive prowess. However, defensive frailties have occasionally cost them points.

Balancing their high-press system with defensive stability will be key for FC Goa as they aim for a top six finish. Improved game management, especially in tight contests, is very much essential.

4. Mumbai City FC (MCFC)

Position: 4th | Points: 20 | GD: +2

Mumbai City has had a relatively mixed season despite their high expectations. Their attack, spearheaded by Karelis, Bipin and Vikram Pratap has delivered, but their defense has been inconsistent.

5. Odisha FC (OFC)

6. NorthEast United FC (NEUFC)

8. Jamshedpur FC (JFC)

Jamshedpur FC has had an erratic season, combining moments of brilliance with frustrating lapses. Despite their struggles, their attacking potential keeps them within touching distance of the top six.

9. Chennaiyin FC (CFC)

10. Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC)
