After the poor outing in the recently concluded SAFF Championship, the Indian Women’s National team are set to travel to Philippines for a tri-nation tournament FieldVision can exclusively confirm.

The top brass of All India Football Federation (AIFF), and the technical committee  have taken note of the poor performance in the recently concluded SAFF Championship and in their efforts to improve the rankings, the National team is set to compete in a tri nation tournament in Philippines.

A source close to the development revealed Fieldvision on Monday evening stating, “The AIFF office bearers , the technical committee have taken note of the performances and to improve the FIFA rankings the federation has decided to take part in the tri-nation tournament.”

The third participant apart from host Philippines and India, is not confirmed yet but Phillipines FA will likely confirm the third participant in the coming days. Following the confirmation, the schedule of the tournament will be released.

The latest FIFA rankings are still pending release, but after recent losses to lower-ranked teams like Bangladesh and Nepal, a significant drop in ranking seems likely for the Blue Tigresses

The AIFF has scheduled a pre-tournament training camp, set to begin on November 13th or 14 and expected to last for 10 days before the team departs for the Southeast Asian country. The timing aligns with the international break, which starts on November 25, allowing the players a dedicated 10-day preparation period.

Santosh Kashyap likely to continue as the head coach

Despite a poor outcome in the SAFF championship there is minimal movement around replacing Santosh Kashyap from his role. The source further suggested that Santosh Kashyap will once again be given the reins to change the fortunes of the team after the poor outcome in Nepal.
